A few words about me

I've traversed a diverse career path, holding an MBA from Imperial College London and a BSc in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. With over two decades of experience, I've been deeply entrenched in IT, Electronics, Energy, and Telecommunications, wearing multiple hats as both an entrepreneur and an investor.
My journey has been associated with the ever-changing landscapes of technology and business, always seeking out new challenges and opportunities. What led me into the world of venture capital is my passion to support the next generation of ground-breaking start-ups. I firmly believe that my extensive background in various sectors, coupled with my knack for identifying game-changing ideas and my experience as managing partner in TECS Capital, affords me with the necessary skills to make a significant impact as a Venture Capital partner.
A fun fact about me is that I thrive on pushing boundaries not only in business but also in life; whether it's sailing against the wind, skiing off the beaten track, or delving into exciting literature, I'm always up for an adventure! Oh, and there's one more cherished aspect of my life – my daughter K who constantly reminds me of the importance of fostering a world of innovation and possibilities for the generations to come.

Short CV

Sotiris holds a BSc and Diploma in Electrical and Computing Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece) and an MBA and DIC from Imperial College Business School, UK. For more than 20 years, Sotiris has been involved with deep and transformative tech in IT, Energy, Telecommunications from both sides of the table, as an entrepreneur and as an investor with experience across a broad range of technology vectors.
Sotiris is co-founder and Partner of TECS Fund I, a pioneering venture capital fund in Thessaloniki. This fund, which is among the first in the region to be backed by HDBI along with private investors, specializes in Industry 4.0 technologies. His background also includes co-founding Greece’s first venture capital-backed GIS startup, driving the venture from the ground up. Previously, Sotiris held the position of Executive Vice President and Investment Director at i4G, Greece’s first private technology incubator. His role there centered on seed capital financing, business development, and technology transfer, making significant contributions to early-stage technology enterprises.
Throughout his career, Sotiris has engaged in numerous startup initiatives, offering both technical and investment consulting to promote entrepreneurship in Greece and internationally. He is currently serving as a high-level Jury member for the EIC Accelerator of the European Commission, a testament to his expertise and recognition in the technology investment field. Additionally, his previous six-year tenure on the Board of Directors for the Association of ICT Companies of Northern Greece (SETPE) underscores his commitment to advancing the ICT sector.
Fluent in Greek, English, and French, Sotiris combines global experience with multilingual proficiency, positioning him as a distinguished figure in both the local and international tech ecosystems.
